Day-of-the-Week Adjustments

The article explains the process of carrying out Day of the Week Adjustments in RoomPriceGenie.

The Day-of-the-Week Adjustments can help you identify days of the week where you need to be more or less expensive than the hotels represented by your Market Intelligence.'

For example, leisure hotels tend to need adjustments to decrease prices on weekdays compared to business hotels. They will also need adjustments to increase prices on Fridays and Saturdays. As an example, consider the hotel shown on the graph below. This hotel is a leisure hotel with higher weekend prices and lower weekdays.

Where I can see/set the Day-of-the-Week Adjustments?

  1. In the navigation bar on the left-hand side of your RoomPriceGenie account, go to Pricing Strategy.
  2. Under Day-of-the-Week Adjustment, you are able to do further adjustments.

Remember: These adjustments apply to all prices for the whole year.

Why do we use Day-of-the-Week Adjustments?

Your hotel may have different characteristics compared to the hotels that we choose to represent your Market Intelligence.

For example, you may be busier on Sunday because you have an amazing restaurant that attracts more guests compared to Sunday at other hotels. In this case, you may choose to price higher on this day as you know that the demand for your hotel is stronger.

Should I change the Day-of-the-Week Adjustments?

Note: When we set your RoomPriceGenie account, we set all these settings for you initially and then we will discuss them with you on the setup call.

So is there a need to change these settings at all?
No, not really, unless you are still finding big differences in demand for different weekdays. This could be because, over time, your business-leisure mix has changed.
