Keeping track of local and regional events has never been easier! The Events Calendar brings together holidays, festivals, sports, and more into one clear monthly view.

No more clicking through dates to check what’s happening — now you can see everything at a glance and plan smarter. RoomPriceGenie provides a centralized view of all relevant country and regional events, making them instantly accessible in a single, convenient location, the "Events Calendar".

Why use the Events Calendar?

Events often drive spikes in demand. Whether it’s a school holiday, a big football match, or a local festival, they can all affect your bookings.

With the Events Calendar, you can:

  • Quickly spot upcoming events at a glance.

  • Access cross-country holiday data (perfect if you’re in a border region).

  • Save time and avoid digging through drawers.

Understanding the Events Calendar

  1. Log into your account.

  2. Go to Calendar > Events tab.

  3. You’ll see a monthly calendar view with all relevant events marked:

    1. Each event is displayed directly in the calendar grid.

    2. Click on an event to see more details.

Filters

Make the calendar work for you by narrowing down what you see:

  • Holiday by Country

    • Your home country’s holidays are added automatically.

    • You can also add neighbouring countries (great if your guests often travel across borders) by clicking at "Customise List"


  • Event Type

    • Choose which types of events happening close to you to display (sports, concerts, festivals, expos, conferences, etc.). This helps you focus only on the demand drivers that matter to your property.

    • You can manage the event radius in Accounts settings > Property.

  • Price Drawer Shortcut (Image Pending)
    • Alongside your pricing view, you’ll also see a short list of upcoming events for quick reference.

Best practices

  • Always keep your property’s country + main neighbouring countries enabled.

  • Use event-type filters to match your guest profile (e.g., concerts for city hotels, sports for ski resorts).

  • Pair the calendar with your pickup reporting to see how events actually affect your bookings.

Things to know

  • Event list updates happen twice per day (not real-time).

  • At the moment, you can’t add your own custom events or pin/hide events.

  • Events don’t change your prices automatically — you stay in full control.

Will the Events Calendar change my prices?
No, it only gives you visibility. You decide how to react. You can learn more here.

Do I need to set up anything with my PMS?
No, it works independently of PMS systems.

Can I add my own events (like local fairs or hotel promotions)?
No, as a workaround you can still use the calendar "notes" to manually add these events: Calendar > click at the event start date > scroll down to "Notes" > click at the text field "add a new note" > select the date range and save:
